Fort Worth Northwest is a 69,275 square foot, 563 unit facility, located on Ephraim Avenue and operates under ASRM’s 1st American Storage brand. When ASRM began managing the property in January of 2010, occupancy was severely low and the loan was fast approaching maturity. ASRM was able to negotiate a one year extension with the lender in an attempt to refinance the loan.
ASRM’s Steven Speier was appointed Receiver of two California properties: A car wash facility located in Palm Desert, California and a partially sold condominium project in North Hollywood, CA. The 18,500 SF car wash facility offers full-service interior detailing, soft-touch wash, touch-free wash, and vacuuming. In addition to washing cars, they also offer oil change services, smog checks, and small paint jobs.
ASRM's student housing division, American Campus Management, attended the National Apartment Association's fifth annual Student Housing Conference & Exposition in Las Vegas last week. The conference was held at the Wynn Las Vegas and consisted of various educational seminars and the industry's leading vendors in the expo hall. The conference opened with numerous breakout sessions Wednesday afternoon followed by a welcome repception that evening.
Town Center Apartments was recognized at this year's Apartment Association of Kansas City's Awards Banquet. Each year the AAKC holds the Crystal Merit awards banquet to honor excellence in the apartment industry. This year’s event was held February 18, 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City. Eddie Jones, Maintenance Technician at Town Center, won Maintenance Technician of the Year award. Mr.
Steven M. Speier, Director of Receivership, Bankruptcy and Litigation Services for ASRM was appointed Receiver for three shopping centers. Mr. Speier in turn appointed ASRM to manage the assets. The three retail properties are located in central California and range in size from approximately 22,000 square feet to over 100,000 square feet of gross leaseable area.
ASRM is proud to name Richard Holland Vice President of Brokerage Services. Mr. Holland has been Vice President of Investments since 2007. He was responsible for directing all asset management, property management, and leasing activities for 29 company-owned assets totaling approximately 2.7 million square feet. Prior to that Mr.

The building is conveniently located at Richmond and Fountainview in Houston’s Richmond/Fountainview submarket.
AAA Storage in San Antonio remains unscathed by the massive wildfire that ignited just outside Camp Bullis in Bexar County. ASRM manages six self-storage facilities in San Antonio. One of which, AAA Storage, is located merely three miles from Camp Bullis. The 150 acre wildfire broke out last Wednesday, September 8, 2011 and came dangerously close to the property. Fortunately no structures were damaged and residents were allowed back into their homes early Wednesday evening.
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC (“ASRM”) has been awarded the management and leasing assignment for the Newport Marina Apartments. The 64 unit multi-family community is located at 919 Bayside Drive in Newport Beach, California, and is one of the very few properties in the area offering Bay front units for lease. In addition, the community offers 34 boat slips for rent on site.
