Bill McGrath, CCIM

Senior Vice President of Operations
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Bill McGrath, CCIM, joined American Spectrum in September 2000 as a Regional Asset Manager and Leasing Representative, focusing on office management and leasing, multi-family redevelopment, and marketing. In 2005, Bill was promoted to Director of Operations, overseeing the leasing and management of the company's office, retail, multi-family and and industrial portfolio consisting of over 3 million square feet. As Senior Vice President of Operations, Bill's responsibilities include evaluating and implementing pro forma performance, meeting target leasing goals, and overseeing the Property Management and Leasing Operations for all owned and Third Party properties throughout the country.

Peter Wall

President, American Spectrum Realty Advisors

Mr. Wall is responsible for underwriting, sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and closing complex commercial real estate transactions throughout the United States. Mr. Wall utilizes his extensive experience and market knowledge of the multifamily and commercial industries to identify new acquisition opportunities and refinancing opportunities, while applying his prior experience in asset management, loan work outs, recapitalization, and dispositions. Mr. Wall received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marshall School of Business from the University of Southern California with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. Mr. Wall holds a California Real Estate Broker's License.

Jie Lee

Vice President, American Spectrum Realty Advisors

Mr. Lee joined American Spectrum in April of 2010 and has played a vital role in a variety of commercial real estate assignments including asset management, value-add acquisition, development, disposition, and refinancing opportunities. As Vice President of ASRA, Mr. Lee is responsible for understanding capital markets, loan provision workouts, and specializes in providing comprehensive financial analytics and underwriting. His industry experience and in-depth market knowledge has earned him the reputation as a trusted commercial real estate advisor. Mr. Lee received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University Fullerton with an emphasis in Real Estate Advisory and Finance. Mr. Lee also holds an ARGUS Software Certification.

Steven M. Speier

Director of Receivership, Bankruptcy and Litigation Services
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Steven Speier was a Partner in Squar Milner’s Bankruptcy and Litigation practice. He has been appointed as a California State Court Receiver in over one hundred cases including office buildings, retail centers, condominium and apartment complexes, hotels/motels, industrial parks, restaurants and residential properties. Mr. Speier has served as a Bankruptcy Trustee, Expert Witness, Provisional Director, Examiner, Responsible Person, Assignee, Disbursing Agent, Real Estate Broker, Referee and Judicial Receiver. He has over thirty years experience in business serving as a Chief Executive Officer and/or Director of numerous companies. His background encompasses diverse experience in several industries including real estate, public accounting and banking. He has served as the General Partner or on the Board of Directors of companies controlling and managing numerous limited partnerships consisting of approximately 15,000 investors.

Darren Kelley

Asset Manager – Self Storage Division
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Darren Kelley joined American Spectrum in early 2010 as District Manager of the Self Storage Division. He is now Asset Manger, overseeing the entire self storage portfolio across 5 states. Darren has 20 years of self storage management experience, most recently 6 years as District Manager with Public Storage, a public company. Darren’s focus is to effectively manage the 1st American Storage properties and advance the 1st American Storage brand into becoming the leading self-storage provider in every market. Darren has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston.

Richard M. Holland

Vice President of Brokerage Services
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Richard M. Holland, Vice President of Brokerage Services, currently oversees the leasing efforts and assists with property acquisitions and dispositions. With over 29 years in commercial real estate, Mr. Holland is well experienced in all asset management activities including identifying corporate acquisition and disposition opportunities, analyzing regional and submarket conditions, overseeing due diligence activities, directing management and leasing activities and implementing annual operating and capital budgets. Mr. Holland also serves as a Texas Receiver for ASRM. Mr. Holland holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and has held a Texas Real Estate Broker’s license since 1981. He currently serves as the Company’s designated broker in Texas.

Jeff Pasternak

VP of Asset Management - Multifamily
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Jeff Pasternak is responsible for the management of the conventional and student housing apartment portfolio for the company. Jeff previously worked as the VP of Capital Markets for the Dinerstein Co. in Houston, where he managed the banking portfolio for the company totaling over $500 million. He was also responsible for the due diligence and asset management of conventional and student housing properties located across the nation. Prior to joining the company, Jeff worked as an Investment Asset Manager for Resmark Equity Partners in California, where he managed a $1.1 billion portfolio of for-sale and for-rent investments. Jeff graduated from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business in 2000.

William Shaklovitz

Asset Manager – Commercial
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Bill joined ASRM in 2007 to direct the management of a portfolio of 29 properties totaling approximately 2 million square feet of office, retail and industrial assets. Bill has over 30 years experience in the commercial real estate industry including third party portfolio management of assets of one of the nation’s largest banks, asset management of a complex of three high-rise office buildings and two retail center for one of the largest developers in Texas and REO Department Head and Director of Leasing for a third party asset management group specializing in bank owned properties. Bill received his B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker.

Matthew Thornton

Vice President of Risk Management
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Mr. Thornton joined American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC in 2009 as a Risk asset manager specializing in property, casualty, E&O, D&O, EPL insurance. He was promoted to Vice President of the Risk Management Department in 2010 overseeing all insurance related issues for over 120 properties nationwide. Mr. Thornton is responsible for identifying, developing and promoting additional revenue streams throughout the American Spectrum property portfolio. Mr. Thornton has over 15 years experience in strategic planning, business development and insurance related activities. He holds an insurance producer’s license in 18 states and currently manages over 1.3 billion in assets.

Jennifer Symons

Marketing Director / Operations Manager
American Spectrum Realty Management, LLC

Jennifer Symons joined American Spectrum in August 2009 as Marketing Coordinator, responsible for press releases, events, print and online advertising campaigns for the company. In January 2010, Jennifer was promoted to Marketing Director and Operations Manager. Her new role includes overseeing all marketing initiatives as well as streamlining the company’s leasing and management departments. Prior to joining American Spectrum, Jennifer was the Marketing Manager for a residential real estate firm specializing in condominiums conversions. She has nearly four years of experience in the on-site sales and marketing of seven condo conversion projects throughout Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas, and Kansas City. Mrs. Symons received a B.B.A in Marketing from Texas Tech University & holds a Texas Real Estate Salespersons License.
